I'm biased because I love this river, so I want students to learn about its history. Copeland does explain eveything you need to know in order to understand what he's saying, but some of his explanations are gentler than others.Otherwise my only complaint is that Copeland raises some interesting questions without exploring them very far. I love Joe Pass and have great respect for him as a guitarist, but this book is very disappointing. I have gotten ALL of Marvel's coloring books they've been cranking out this past years, and this is by far my FAVORITE!. not a good reason to buy a book, let alone a guide. As someone very interested in American History, I was anxious to read this book to get a different perspective on the events that shaped our country's future.It's an interesting account but tends to ramble at times. Although it is very detailed, it's almost detailed to a fault. It is almost too bad that the newest version is only updated and with a new chapter.
